Wanting to shop

18 Apr

I am watching the Today show. They are having a segment on sunglasses. Now I want a few pairs; although I wear glasses, and I have a very nice pair already

I did not pay for these, they were a gift from my brother. I like them but you would think for the price they would not be so frail. But it does not matter because I wear glasses.

So I turned off the television because I do not need them.

I will be taking a break. Know you guys are so tire of my updates. Going to get some things done around the house and will update in a week.

Good for you for turning off the TV! We dealt with the problem of advertisements by getting rid of our TV altogether, though I know that’s not for everyone!. We don’t miss it {there wasn’t ever much worth watching anyway, in my opinion!} And we do find that we don’t get the urge to shop so easily because we don’t see the “stuff” presented in such an enticing fashion!

Thanks for your support! I do plan if something happens to the televisions is not to replace them. Once the last of my kids are grown and moved out (4 more years) I want to move overseas. Where I cannot bring the tv’s anyway.

That’s for sure! Where would you like to move to? Anywhere near Italy?

Possibly, I thought about a English speaking country. But since I am really looking for an adventure Italy is on the top of the list. But not tourist trap areas, but somewhere in a nice town.

Well, Italy is nice all over! Of course, since southern Europe is in the midst of a big crisis there is a tremendous lack of jobs. That could make it difficult!

I agree. We cancelled our cable and now exclusively use netflix and hulu, mostly just to watch Modern Family.

When you think about the goal of advertising (to make you spend money on something you really don’t need), commercials and ads begin to seem somewhat desperate and comical. At least that’s been my experience.

        Yes they really do!

We no longer have cable in our house; Just the basic locals. I made a point not to watch to much of even Netflix and hulu.
But you are sooo right about the commercials being comical..
